Celebrating Success at the Adidas Manchester Marathon

Updated: Apr 22

On a sunny Sunday, April 14th, 2024, the vibrant streets of Manchester were lined with cheering crowds as the UK's second largest marathon unfolded. The adidas Manchester Marathon, renowned across Europe for its scale and atmosphere, was the scene of an extraordinary display of endurance and community spirit.

The Hike with Mike Team was in the spotlight, participating in this prestigious event to support a noble cause. Runners Jay Ellard, Jack Labron Johnson and Matt Surridge tackled the formidable 26.2-mile course, energised by the incredible support of Manchester's residents. Their determination was visible to all, as they donned our new specialist runner’s tops, standing out among the 32,000 participants.

The day was more than just a physical challenge; it was a resounding success in our ongoing mission. Thanks to the dedication of our runners and the generosity of their sponsors, we raised an impressive £1,064 for The Hike with Mike Foundation.

These funds are crucial in providing immediate counselling and therapy for those experiencing mental health emergencies, particularly for individuals facing long waiting lists within the NHS.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to everyone who supported our cause, from the spirited spectators to the dedicated volunteers and every donor who contributed.

If you're inspired by our team's efforts and wish to participate in future races to support our cause, we warmly invite you to reach out.

Congratulations to Jay, Jack and Matt — your efforts keep our charity thriving. Every step you ran and every penny raised helps us extend much-needed support to those in need.

Thank you and well done! — Team HWM
